Payments

What is a Payment

A Payment is a method to collect funds using an already existing customer or by entering a new credit card. The merchant performs this action on the merchant platform.


New Payment

With a New Credit Card

  1. Click New Payment or Click Payments then click New Payment.
  2. Choose No, enter card manually.
  3. Enter valid Credit Card Information: Name on Card, Zip/Postal Code, Card Number, Exp. Date, CVV/CVC.
  4. Select a Payment Type.
  5. Enter an Amount. The total of the payment with the credit card fee will display in the Total Payment field.
  6. To send a receipt, enter a Phone Number and/or Email Address.
  7. To include Billing Address and/or Shipping Address, click Additional Information.
  8. If you would like to add more detail about the order information, click the Order Information.
  9. When finished, click Submit Payment to process the transaction. If successful, you will be taken to the Payments screen.

With an Existing Customer

  1. Click New Payment or Click Payments then click New Payment.
  2. Click Select Customer.
  3. Choose a customer and click Select. To change the customer selected, click Change Customer.
    NOTE: Only customers with a saved credit card can be selected.
  4. Select a Payment Type.
  5. Enter an Amount. The total of the payment with the credit card fee will display in the Total Payment field.
  6. If you would like to add more detail about the order information, click the Order Information.
  7. When finished, click Submit Payment to process the transaction. If successful, you will be taken to the Payments screen.

Payment Types

Charge

The amount of the transaction is submitted and immediately flagged for settlement.


Preauthorization

The amount is authorized immediately but are not flagged for settlement. These transactions must be flagged for settlement using the capture transaction type.


Capture

What is a capture

The payment is flagged for settlement. Only payments that started with an preauthorization can be captured. Captures can be submitted for an amount equal to or less than the original preauthorization.


Capture a transaction

  1. Click on Payments.
  2. Under the Action column, click the 3 Vertical Dots in the row of the payment you wish to capture.
  3. Click Capture.
  4. A Capture Payment popup will appear, enter a Amount to capture.
  5. Click Capture.

Void

What is a void

A void is the process of preventing a payment from being settled. You must void a transaction before settlement.


Void a transaction

  1. Click on Payments.
  2. Under the Action column, click the 3 Vertical Dots in the row of the payment you wish to void.
  3. Click Void.
  4. A Void Payment popup will appear, choose a Reason for the void.
  5. Click Confirm.

Refund

What is a refund

A refund is the process of returning money back to a customer's card after it has been captured and settled.


Refund a payment

  1. Click on Payments.
  2. Under the Action column, click the 3 Vertical Dots in the row of the credit card you wish to refund.
  3. Click Refund.
  4. A Refund Payment popup will appear. Select Total Amount to refund. Select Other Amount to refund only a portion of the payment. Enter the Amount you want to partially refund.
  5. Enter a Reason for the refund.
  6. Click Confirm.

Settlement

The settlement happens automatically nightly and the funds will be transfered from the customer's card to the merchant's account.


Credit Card Fee

The cost of processing a credit card payment. This credit card fee is transfered to the customer as part of the total amount to pay. With our unique Variable Rate Surchargeā„¢ technology, you have the flexibility to pass on transaction costs of 2%, 2.5%, or 3% to your customers.
